I received the following question today on Twitter:

How can we determine which GMOs are harmful and which are beneficial?

What an interesting question. We usually assume all GMOs are harmful, as I am so inclined to do, but we do not know for sure. What made you ask this question? I have read in some scientific journals that those who study our planet's history and the cycles of life on earth say that there is no evidence of wheat, barley, rice, etc. prior to the time estimated for the great flood, approximately 10,000 years ago. Suddenly, at the time right after the flood, the eight major grains appeared on earth, apparently through some kind of genetic engineering, scientists surmise. No idea if this is true, but it is fascinating to think about, because if true, we have all been eating GMOs for most of our existence on the planet. . .
